Keith and I just finished up season one of Slings and Arrows. This Canadian dramedy is some of the best TV I have seen in a very long time. Not just because I spent a good portion of my coming of age in community theater, and not just because I have a soft spot for insane geniuses, but because it is well written and sincere. Just finished this, my first book of the new year, The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane. The cover really caught my eye when it was on the new release rack at Barnes & Noble, but it wasn't too awful long till I found it in the El Cheapo aisle at Books-A-Million, where I grudgingly forked over a fiver for it. This time last year we were still paying $75.00/month just for television. I canceled the account with Dish and never looked back.
We did not, however, cancel our beloved Netflix account. So I spent $99.00 on a Roku and we've been happy ever since. I am not getting paid by Roku or Netflix (though it might show up in the ad network on this page), but I am a huge fan.

My husband and I managed to sneak away from the house late Christmas Eve to go see James Cameron's Avatar 3D. Thanks very much my brother was willing to hang out at our place and hold down the fort so we could have a very rare few hours to ourselves.
